Frequently Asked Questions
Energy-based modalities, as rooted in Eastern Medicine, offer a holistic approach that balances and restores the body's natural energies to enhance vitality, mental clarity, and overall well-being. Energy therapies do not specifically treat medical, health, or mental conditions. Rather, the body's innate intelligence for healing and homeostasis is triggered when the body’s electromagnetic and subtle energy system's balance and flow are restored.
The human body consists of subtle energy fields, including the biofield, meridians, and chakras, which influence physical and emotional well-being. Gentle techniques rooted in Chinese medicine are used to clear blockages, restore flow, and harmonize these energy systems, where the body’s self-healing processes are naturally activated.
Sessions incorporating energy techniques are tailored to individual needs and may involve a combination of techniques to promote overall well-being.
For in-person sessions, clients remain fully clothed while techniques are applied in standing, seated, or lying-down positions. A combination of light touch, hands-off techniques within the biofield, and craniosacral methods may be used to facilitate energy flow, release tension, and restore balance. These techniques are paired with coaching in self-applying techniques.
For virtual sessions, energy techniques are incorporated to support balance, relaxation, and energetic flow. Personalized coaching, in conjunction with guided breath-work, visualization, and intention-based energy alignment assist clients in developing skills for self-application of energy techniques typically used during in-person sessions.
Through these interactive approaches, clients develop greater self-awareness and the ability to maintain their own energetic well-being between sessions.
Regardless of the type of session, in-person or virtual, it is not uncommon to experience sensations such as warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, or emotional release. Regardless of experienced sensations, the body’s self-healing mechanisms are activated, supporting greater resilience, clarity, and overall well-being beyond the session.
The number of sessions required depends on individual goals, needs, and responses to treatment.
For those seeking to address a specific challenge, most can expect to experience meaningful change after 4-6 sessions. Some choose to extend the number of sessions to address additional concerns or to tackle challenging or deeply seated issues, or for deep integration of gains experienced. Because clients are actively engaged in their personalized energy home-care between sessions, a frequency of every-other week generally works to support steady progress toward goals.
Some individuals experience noticeable benefits in just one or two sessions and choose to return periodically when life throws off their balance and flow. Some choose to return every other month to maintain their energies, while others choose to renew their energy balance and flow seasonally.
Soft, comfortable, loose-fitting or athletic clothing is recommended. Several techniques involve touching the feet, so socked feet are also recommended.
Certain fabrics and jewelry interfere with the bio-energetic techniques. Watches and most jewelry are removed for the duration of the session. Clothing made of wool, silk, denim, and leather inhibit the energy manipulations of the session, therefore leather belts are also removed.
Individuals remain fully clothed throughout the session, and treatments take place in standing, seated, or lying-down positions, depending on the techniques used.
Energy-based therapies are rooted in Eastern medicine and emerging science. Technques include meridian accupoint and bio-electric stimulation and mindfulness-based therapy. Techniques engage the body's natural energy systems regardless of belief. Some individuals experience immediate changes, while others notice benefits over time, such as reduced pain, reduced stress, improved vitality and strength, improved clarity, and enhanced emotional balance.
The impact of Energy-based techniques varies from person to person. Some individuals notice immediate changes, such as a sense of deep relaxation, reduced stress, or improved mental clarity, while others experience subtle shifts that become more apparent over time. Many experience continued positive shifts in their energies for up to 24 to 72-hours after session completion.
Even if no immediate physical sensations are perceived, the body's energy systems are still being engaged, balanced, and supported in their natural healing processes.
Signs that the Energy-based modalities are having an effect may include:
✔ Increased sense of calm and emotional balance
✔ Enhanced mental clarity, focus, and decision-making
✔ Reduction in physical discomfort, tension, or stress-related symptoms
✔ Greater ease in managing daily activities and personal challenges
✔ Improved sleep quality and energy levels
✔ Heightened awareness of personal energy flow and balance
For many, the ability to recognize and maintain optimal energy balance strengthens with continued sessions. Over time, individuals often develop a deeper awareness of their energetic state, making it easier to notice when balance has been disrupted and apply self-care techniques to restore well-being.
Sensitivity to energy varies from person to person, and experiencing noticeable sensations is not required for Energy-based therapies to be effective. Some individuals may feel warmth, tingling, or shifts in energy flow during a session, while others may not perceive any immediate physical sensations. Regardless of what is consciously felt, the body's energy systems are still being engaged, balanced, and supported in their natural healing processes.
Over time, many individuals develop a greater awareness of their energy balance and flow, which enhances the ability to self-regulate and maintain optimal energetic well-being.
Increased attunement to the body's subtle energy systems can support deeper relaxation, resilience, and overall vitality, making it easier to sustain energetic balance in daily life.
No. Energy Therapies are not a substitute for medical, psychological, or occupational therapy treatment. It is a complementary approach designed to support overall well-being and resilience. Depending on individual needs, sessions may include:
• Craniosacral Techniques – Gentle, hands-on methods to release tension in the craniosacral system, promoting deep relaxation and nervous system regulation.
• Biofield and Hands-On Techniques – A combination of light touch and off-the-body energy work to facilitate release, balance, and energy flow within the body's energy systems.
• Mind-Body Integration – Breathwork, guided visualization, and somatic awareness techniques to support relaxation, self-regulation, and emotional resilience.
This integrative approach is grounded in both scientific principles and holistic healing, offering personalized support for enhanced function, clarity, and overall well-being.
